How often can I use Revolution on my cat or kitten?
You can use Revolution on your cat fortnightly if you have a bad enough flea problem. You should only need to use it once a month. If you notice fleas coming back before the month is up, it is a good idea to treat again.
How long does Revolution last on cats?
Revolution lasts for a full month. If fleas come back before the end of the month is up, you should re-dose again.
How long after using Revolution can I wash my cat?
You should not wash your cat or kitten for 2 hours after application. For the rest of the month Revolution is water resistant.
At what age can I start using Revolution on kittens?
Revolution can be used on kittens as young as 6 weeks of age.
How do I apply Revolution onto my cat?
- Depress the cap to puncture the seal on the tube, then remove the cap to apply.
- Part the hair on the back at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible.
- Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze the tube to empty its entire contents directly onto the skin in one spot.
- Apply the product directly to the skin without massaging into the site.
- Avoid contact between the product and your fingers
- Do not apply when the hair coat is wet
- Bathing or shampooing the cat two or more hours after treatment will NOT reduce the efficacy

Revolution works well in preventing heartworm in cats. It must be applied on a monthly basis to prevent heartworm disease. It should be applied year round or at least within one month after your cats first exposure to mosquitoes and monthly thereafter until the end of the mosquito season. Revolution may be safely applied to heartworm infeceted cats, however, it is recommended in accordance with good veterinary practice, that all cats over 6 months of age be tested for existing heartworm infections before beginning medication with Revolution.

In laboratory studies done by Revolution, it was found that just 1 dose was 100% effective in treating for ear mites. In field studies where re-infestation was possible Revolution eliminated 100% of ear mites in cats. Using monthly will treat any subsequent ear mite infestations. As well as using Revolution, cleansing of the infested ears is recommended to remove the debris.
